VOLUME 27: Call for Visual Art

Thank you for your interest in our Twenty-Seventh (27th) volume of The Salal Review, Lower Columbia College's award-winning literary and visual arts magazine. Each piece you submit will be reviewed anonymously by our student editors enrolled in Arts Magazine Publication to enable an unbiased review process. The finished volume will be presented in print and web form and unveiled at our launch party event in Spring 2027. To view previous volumes and updates, visit www.salalreview.com.

Submissions are accepted from anyone with a connection to the Lower Columbia region (students, staff, faculty, and community members of all ages). We ask that submitters include a brief biographical statement (one to four sentences) that describes their connection to the region.

  • Visual Art is accepted through December 31st. Up to five pieces of art may be submitted. All forms of visual art suitable for print reproduction will be considered. We cannot accept one-of-a-kind originals, so please send high resolution .JPG .PNG or .TIFF files, 300dpi at 6.5 x 6.5 inches minimum, or ask for assistance at salal@lowercolumbia.edu.

Each piece is judged individually, so if you are submitting more than one piece for consideration, complete a new submission for each.  In other words, please do not submit multiple images in a single document attachment. Instead, submit each in a separate file attachment.

Questions may be directed to the editorial staff at salal@lowercolumbia.edu.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
